Was Once the King: Author's Note
To everyone
who walked beside Hector Brandon from the first line to the final one—thank
you.
This story
began with a man who had been broken in ways the world couldn’t see. It
followed him through heartache, through the sting of rejection, the silence of
loss, and the exhaustion of performance—not just on screen, but in life. He was
a man who had loved deeply, been left painfully, and stood in front of mirrors
unsure if he was worth being seen at all.
But this
wasn’t just a story of heartbreak. It was a story of rebuilding.
Hector’s
journey wasn’t about reclaiming fame—it was about reclaiming self-worth. It was
about letting go of the need to be adored by the world, in favor of being
cherished by one person who truly saw him. About healing not by forgetting the
past, but by choosing love and hope in spite of it.
Benjamin
wasn’t written to fix Hector. He was written to stay.
Because
sometimes, healing looks like a hand that doesn’t let go. A voice that says,
again and again, "You are enough."
For everyone
who has felt like Hector—who has stood in the aftermath of something that
almost undid them—this story is for you. You don’t have to rise perfectly. You
don’t have to shine for anyone but yourself. You are allowed to grow slowly.
You are allowed to rebuild.
And when you
do—may your story be soft and brave and true. Just like his.
He was once
the king. But in the end, he chose something better:
A love that
stayed. A life that healed. And a light that was always his.
— With all my
heart, thank you for reading.
